California Minis

Just back from a 15 day driving holiday around California. Saw a couple of nice Minis in San Diego including a nice blue S in the Horton Plaza. Another blue S on the strip in Las Vegas, but what suprised me the most was the sheer number in San Fransisco, it felt a bit like Kensington. Most disapointing aspect was driving the Big Sur in a Ford Mustang convertable. It was'nt the road, which was fantastic, it was the fact that it would have been so much better in a Mini Cooper. The Mustang was'nt a patch on the Mini both in terms of build quality and handling. I do'nt think the performance was all that considering it was a 3.8 litre.

Yes, there are a lot of MINIs here in SF.

I drove across town (approx. 4 miles)and back one day last week. Counted 4 MINIs each way!!

There also seems to be quite a few old Minis around town.

Life is short! Why drive a boring car?!

Indi blue/white Cooper;Sport & Premium packages.

it's great to see other MINIs, but not all MINI drivers here wave though. i waved to the two MINIs i've seen on the road this week, and neither of them waved back. they just looked at me like i'm an idiot

Haha Don't worry Fishie, I'm sure there is some nice friendly MINI driver will wave at you. At least I will do that too all other MINI folks.

well, i've met many nice friendly MINI drivers from MINI meets, at the dealer, and on the street, so i know they're out there. i'm disappointed, but that still doesn't stop me from flashing and waving to the next MINI driver i see.

dont worry fishie... once i finally get my cooper i will wave. those that dont wave back are the those that just dont get the meaning of the mini. to them its just a car. they dont understand the responsiblities that go with it.

As hja said, they do not have the MINI sprite. They can't call themself as a MINI fan.

You know what me and the wife found odd was that we went all over L.A. to many MINI dealerships and did not see one MINI on the road. WE came back to our hick town of Bakersfeild and saw 3.

oh bakersfield is not such a hick town anymore. i wouldn't been surprised to see MINIs there. it's almost like a suburb to LA. i went through my internship at porterville. now that's a hick town.

Portaville! You poor thing. Trust me Bakersfeild is the biggest/smallest hick town. Everybody knows somebody you know. My wife and I can't go anywere with out runnig into someone we know. wich makes going to the county fair a family reunion practikly
