Renting a MINI

My mom was gonna rent me a MINI for prom tonight as a graduation present (even though my MCS is going to be a birthday/graduation/college/christmass present) but the nearest place was in Miami (I live in the Jacksonville area). The others were in New York, Las Vegas, and California. So it looks like I'm stuck with the Yukon XL. (INSERT SARCASTIC TONE HERE) Yeah...!

Thats a nice gift for so many occasions!

Hope you enjoy the new MCS when it comes, and enjoy the Yukon XL for prom night.
Put it this way, you can do things in the Yukon XL with your date that you wouldn't really be able to do in the Mini!

Mini owners are to busy driving there minis. I have yet to see a mini owner last five minutes without wanting to drive there mini......Oh, I forgot 5 minutes before you have the urge to drive the mini again. That still leaves you 2 minutes grace. 3 minutes for..... ???

Last fall, I wanted to rent a MINI while I was in Germany. A little Autobahn cruising, you know?

BUT - the only rental service who said they could provide one was going to bring it out of Austria - at a cost for the week of $2,000.

So I opted for the MB A Klasse instead It did cruise the Autobahn at more than 100mph - flat out - with the engine wound tight. $360 for the week I would rather have had the MINI though.

Until MINIs are in widespread supply, and in someone's regular rental fleet, I guess they will cost a lot to rent and be hard to get. But that's OK - I can drive my MCS whenever I want. Next time though, I'm at least going to get a C Klasse, or better yet, a 3 series!

Enjoy the prom,

Dave

Gotten anything useful from MINI2? How about giving a little something back?
