Offline | From what I hear, the cup holders aren't great. Has anyone found a coffee cup in any of the coffee houses that fits? I saw cups in 4 different colors in stainless at one of the Mini accessory sites that looked pretty nice, but I don't want to place an order if they won't fit. Thanks! |

Offline | If you mean insulated coffee mug type thing. The ones that will fit (guarenteed) are the MINI ones, but only the short version. They commissioned a special version (I think its like 5 3/4" high on the minigear website) that will fit in the front cupholders. You can fit 2 if you like. it wouldn't surprise me if you could find others that fit, but the MINI ones are like $11 if you pay full price and stainless, so go for them. Either pick them up at a dealer, where you can test it in one of the cars to prove to yourself, or if you get them online, they're obvious which is the 'normal' and which is the special short to fit under the toggles version. | MINI2 Master | My big Starbucks stainless steel cup fits fine in the rear cup holder but whenever I use it I forget to drink it! At most I get a sip or two from it. On good days, I remember it when I reach my destination, take it with me and drink it there -- on bad days I discover it a week later... ewww. The MINI is for driving. If you have enough traffic or traffic lights to finish a big cup of coffee in your MINI then you really need to pull out a map and find a route that's more fun! JMO, OC. Offline | Just received a freebie stainless (or something passing for stainless) coffee mug from MINI. The bottom is small enough to fit into the cupholder, but it has a greater diameter in the part that sticks up above it. Will post a pic in a day or so if no one else has. The bottom has some rubbery stuff on it, and on top it has an orange cap to keep the coffee in but allow you to sip. If I weren't so high I could probably turn it into a bong. Joking. It came with a note: "By now you've realized that some cups don't fit in your MINI's cup holders. This may have forced you to use the old legs-as-a-cup-holder technique. But your MINI likes turns, and your latte is hot. A potentially bad combo. The enclosed mug should be just the ticket. Motor on." Personally, I never drink coffee (or anything else) while driving because there is nowhere in Honolulu I can go without having to shift every couple of seconds. Still, free stuff is cool.
