Silver/white?

Silver wheels are either anodized, clear coated, or painted silver. Put your tongue on it and if you taste metal they are anodized, other wise clear coated or painted. If clear coated you should be able to see the turning or molding marks under the clear coat, otherwise painted. Polished very rarely exists anymore. WHITE- most certainly powder coated, very very tough, either one can be sprayed with Sonex motorcycle hard wax about onece a month, and buffed if you want, and will offer very good protection against the etching of brake dust (happens to silver too)which will wash off very easily when sprayed with PS-21 wheel cleaner and then hit with a hose.

Just from an aesthetic point of view, I'd say white wheels on a car with a white roof (but you have to keep them clean). Silver wheels on anything else.

Slightly ahead in the colour-combination stakes for me is the yellow-white roof-white wheels.

Although I'm not known for my car-cleaning prowess - my current Cooper (almond green) has been mud-brown for the last 5 months.

Ordered my "S" August '01. Arrived July '02. EB with white roof, wheels and stripes, Chili pack, DSC and climate control. Hate those 17" runflats though.

Can now be seen all over the West Midlands, as a blue blur passing everything at speed
