Offline | Time Capsule MINI? I saw this on eBay. It's a 1975 Austin Marina (US market version of the Morris Marina) with only 748 miles (!) from new. A distant relative of the classic Mini, both made by British Leyland in the 1970s, the Marina used a MGB engine in the US market. This old Marina is certainly not the most desireable car in the world, but it's a real time capsule piece, coming on 30 years old, and perfectly preserved from new. That's kind of magical to me. Anyway, it made me wonder.... do you think anyone has put a new MINI away for the future? Will an unused 2003 MINI suddenly appear on the market in 2031? + 2002 MINI Cooper S - Dark Silver / White roof, Sport, Premium, Lapis blue leather + 1965 Mini Traveller - Tartan Red / White roof, 1275, Cooper S discs, fully restored/renewed |

Offline | Time Capsule MINI Sure, in a museum, maybe. Unless we can convert them to hydrogen, I don't think our little babies will be too viable in thirty years' time. I am glad for hydrogen power, but sad that our fun car-tuning days may be slipping away. Guess we'll have to find ways to trick out our "Mr. Fusion" power reactors! ![]() |

Offline | I don't believe it!!! it looks WORSE in US spec than it did in the UK Market - I thought making a Marina look woorse was impossible. This car ( along with the Austin Allegro - ugh!) was a sort of equivilent to your AMC Pacer - ugly and useless as a mode of transportation. British Leyland was temonal in the early 70's - this car helped finish it off... BRGreenie ... --- ... |
