Offline | Someone who needs some help poured wax or cooking grease on the bonnet of my mini. I was able to get it off and it looks like the paint is not affected. However, the perimiter of the grease spot is still slightly visible. Any suggestions on how to clean that off? Or perhaps I can repolish that section???? Can you believe this???? ![]() |

Offline | Sorry to hear that. There are some real sad losers around it seems. Its just envy. Dont let them get to you. Although I'm in the UK i'm becoming very aware of the risks of getting a highly desirable car like the new MINI. Similar incidents are happening too often here in the UK. It makes you think twice about getting one at all !! But that would mean that the scum have won... When i get my Cooper i'm getting a security light and camera to cover the drive of my house (and a baseball bat!!). I may even clear out the garage!! ![]() Not sure about the stain on your bonnet - but a quick call to a car body-shop specialist and they will tell you what will remove it safely. Hope this helps. Offline | Very sorry to hear about such nastiness. People on the MINIUSA owners'lounge site swear by a product called Zaino. http://www.zainobros.com/ I have not used it yet, but I did print out the information on their products and will be giving it a try for myself in the near future. Hope you find something that restores the finish for you so you can return to happy motoring. -=Mike=- laissez les bons temps rouler |

Offline | Great. Thanks for the responses. Even with the Mini I want my wife to use the garage for her car. A camera may be a good idea if this happens again. I already have several bats. Maybe this sign will work, posted on the windsheild in my driveway... WARNING: I WON'T HESITATE TO EXERCISE MY SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHT. In the meantime I'll check out the products you've mentioned. Thanks again. |

Offline | before you use a buffing compound of any kind I'd first go over to the local WalMart and buy a bottle of Goo Be Gone and try that first. It won't effect the clear coat at all and is also great to remove any road tar. If that doesn't work then any body shop will buff the mark out of the clear coat for you for little $$$'s. Zaino's great stuff by the way, great wax and a fantastic leather treatment that doesn't have any water in it. But for removing mars in the clear coat it's not any better than anyother high quality buffing compound. My2centsAugs |

| I went but now I'm back | As you know its practically impossible to steel a mini unless you have the keys. They just knocked my front door in and came and got the keys 3 in the mornin by the time i got down the stairs with a trusty tool they were reversing off the drive and speeding away. |

Offline | I agree! Zaino in the Corvette comunity is used to get a car into show quality, you need something that will remove something...I'm not sure Zanio is the ticket. Also remember Zanio is like a 12 step program... Plus I just want you to know I'm sorry it happened. Just know that they are jealous and don't know the joy of owning a Mini, that's what always gets me through we someone does something to one of our cars. When you have a car that people like...people get jealous. We've been egged, milked (milk thrown into the interior and let me tell you that stains plastic), spray painted, a rock thrown at our car (now mind you none of these things happened to our Mini partly because we don't have a Mini). Good luck. Got to get my MINI! |
