What is my car worth/is this a fair price

Hi all,

I'm looking to upgrade my May 02 Solid Black Cooper, with White roof, Chilli pack, MFSW, Heated Mirrors and Jets, Xenon Headlamps, CD Changer, Radio Boost, TLC, Auto Aircon Full service History and 18,000 miles, my dealer has offered me £11,000 against a New S, is this good or should I sell private and If so how much should I ask.

Many Thanks

Richard

Well the dealer will add a minimum £1500 to this price for his profit margin, and will anticipate making some money on top from financing the deal (most people want finance for cars these days). So you should be able to sell for at least a grand more than the dealer offers. I traded my Cooper against an 'S'. Dealer offerred £11, I sold it privatly for £12500. Could have sold a dozen of them at this price, I should have held out for more.

You take your chances, good luck. Less hassel trading it, but he will put it up for at least 13k on the forcourt, perhaps more. Can you stomach seeing him make a second dollop of profit from your car????
