Offline | I've noticed a few names for people's beloved Mini's banded around the forum. So, what's your's called and why? People look at me oddly when I say mine's a male and he's called Mickey. Somehow Minis lend themselves to having a name and a personality. 2 reasons really : 1. I thought Mickey Mini sounded quite cool. 2. He's red and white with a black interior, same colours as the mouse! Over to you .... |

Offline | Well my MINI is called JET, I use the 3 in my username as I hope to integrate into a plate someday. I also own an old Mini called OJ for reasons I won't go into but if you've owned funky cars like the MINI and the Mini before then you'll understand how you can't help not naming them!!!!! No offense sirobbo but what have you owned before your MINI?? random VWs or fords?? They just don't lend themselves to be named unfortunately, gotta be a car full of fun!!! Jon ![]() Completely MINI/Mini Mad!!! |

Offline | Yep, nine VW`s including a Corrado VR6, Golf VR6, an Alfa Romeo GTV, an Audi A3 and even a short time with an MG. Perhaps I sounded like a miserable git but naming cars just `aint my thang! Ex Cooper chili owner, now Audi S3 owner. |

Offline | Min's called BUTCH. My wifes idea. She said that from the front it reminds her of Butch, the bulldog from Sooty and Sweep because the grill looks like that dogs teeth???!!! I went along with the name because it has a sort of butch look about it's stance on the road. I'll shut up now!! ![]() |

| Moderator & Sponsor | Nothing really quirky about this one, but all the Mini's in our family have inherited the name 'George' after the 1st Mini named by my sister. If I had to give it a alternative name it would have to be 'Bertie' from the cartoon character 'Bertie Banana' in a comic strip in the Yorkshire Evening Post some years back (how tenuous is that!? ) |

Offline | Re: Butch Your wife's not the only one to see "bulldog" in the MINI's design. On the miniusa.com site there are marketing references to the car's "wide bulldog stance". Even a sound bite of a bulldog barking to drive home the point. ![]() + 2002 MINI Cooper S - Dark Silver / White roof, Sport, Premium, Lapis blue leather + 1965 Mini Traveller - Tartan Red / White roof, 1275, Cooper S discs, fully restored/renewed |
