MINI COOPER: Cosmos Black with Cordoba beige leather and patina trim with every concievable added option!
Quote from a googled webpage:
"Follow me home lights - Allows headlights to stay on for a pre-determind time after the drivers door is closed. Customer Benefits: Added security for occupants when walking away from the car in unlit car park or on driveway at night."
And there was me thinking it was some new method of car flirting!
All you need to do is to take the ignition key out before you turn the lights off and hey presto the lights stay on for about 30secs. Nice feature but you do get plenty of people telling you that you've left your lights on
MINI, RX8 and MX5 - Done those............. It's now TTime Unofficial MINI2.com bean counter
Or just switch off the engine while the headlights are on, then switch off the lights. The Main beams will still stay on. Remove key and enjoy esp. if you have xenons
This is programmed by most dealers as standard now
Does my @rse look big in this broom broom www.totalMINI.com will be right back
I was asked whether I wanted the "follow me home lights" as well as several other programable options when I picked my car up.
I think the other features I was asked if I wanted were: day time running lights, and which FOB(key) functions I wanted, like the ability to roll down the windows with my FOB(key).
My 3 week old Cooper has both the follow me home lights and the auto locking enabled as standard. Since I normaly park in a lit garage, the former is rarely any use (tell next winter anyway) while I find the latter a touch anoying, but not anoying enough to visit the dealer just to change it
