How many miles did it take for your first service??

Well somebody said it would make a good thread... I guess we will see. I didnt even know that it varied based on your driving, that is really cool! So be honest, how did you treat your baby??

My Cooper was just about 9,300 something (if I recall correctly).

Abi's MINI One went in at 8,500.

She drives like a maniac I tell you! (Although she denies it). hmmmmm.

Should be going in very soon - near 8.5k. With a morning drop-off can I expect maybe an evening pick-up? Hope, at least...

I went early for an oil change, but the computer told me to go at about 9,300. My dealer allows 500 earlier than the computer countdown.

Strange - the S. African Neon has the same engine, and their recommended service interval is 12,000 km (7,500 mi).

About 12,500 for me - I did change the oil/filter myself at 5,500 (it was pretty clean) and I do mostly highway driving... After that service the computer said the next one will be in another 15,500!

My first Cooper was 6000 then 19000 for the next service

My new Cooper had its first service at 8000 and at the moment its looking like its going to be about 21000 for the next service but that could easily change

I think it was 10,500, but the real kick is that when the service writer came out to check how many miles until the service was due it was -- exactly -- ZERO!

He had never seen that before. (If you go over the display is "---")

It took until 11,600 for my car (and I thought I drove it hard!) Must be my daily boring commute to/from work that lengthened it.

Actually, it goes into minus figures, Abi's was -300 or something like that when she finally got it booked in!

Mine asked for its first service at around 12,000 miles. I now have 22,600 and it says there are 7,600 until the next service - that makes the second oil change at over 30k!!! I changed my oil when it said there were 10,000 to the next service and will do it again when it says 5,000. That is putting the changes at about every 6,000 road miles.
