![]() MINI2 Master | I guess you've never owned one? Every Pug/Citroen I've known about (apart from one) has pretty much fallen to bits or rattled like a smokers throat! |

Offline | Here's some more info on this issue: The Next MINI To Have A Peugeot/Citreon Chassis? "Insiders say that PSA (Peugeot/Citreon) could provide the platform for the next MINI. BMW was forced to completely re-engineer the current "shoebox" when it discovered, about 18 months before it's promised intro date, that the car is had entrusted to Rover to develop was a total disaster. The final result was possibly the best enthusiast's car for the money ever built-but because of the comprehensive emergency surgery required to revive it, the MINI is possibly the least profitable car BMW has built in recent history. Borrowing a chassis would be a tremendous savings in development costs and help insure that the next-generation MINI generates the returns for which the company is famous." (The Roundel) ![]() |

Offline | That was posted on here at the start of April, and to be honest, I'd give news my cat gave me about the new MINI more credit than that... Offline | Right, it's old news (I posted it 4/1 on my site) but I figured some here might not have seen it. I didn't see it posted on MINI2 either ![]() The Roundel is an interesting source for rumors. Many times they are totally off base but there have been a couple times that they've produced to pretty interesting scoops. For instance they may have been the first source of info regarding the next gen M3 and the new v8. BTW off topic but I wanted to say congrats on the factory tour the other day... very well done Paul!! ![]() |

Offline | It's a tough choice to make with 'reporting'. I hear so many rumours there's often a temptation to publish things. But I tend to try and report and mention on these forums more 'assured' things less often, then mention everything more often and have a lower percentage of accuracy. There's only a few times later on I've thought "I wish I'd have said that". I still keep a few things under wraps, just because I dont want to get folk into trouble! On that note (and way off-topic). Have you heard that MINI are planning using shark fins antenna's for FM reception as standard, instead of the current bee-sting? I saw one at the factory, and had it confirmed by the UK general manager. ![]() Our trials and tribulations living in a "bleeding edge" eco house... Oxley Woods Living |

Offline | True - I typically try to stay fairly ambiguous and make sure to report it as just a rumor in those situations. I'm also more likely to report something if it's in an actual mag as opposed to some web forum. Although the more interesting and seemingly reliable the more likely I'm going to post something on my site. But my site being more of a blog it follows a stream of thought type of content flow anyway. Very cool. Can I consider that verified then ![]() ![]() |

Offline | From what i have read, the peugeot engine is still going to be modified and enhanced by BMW. The mini is going to have a different engine, it will just be based on the peugeot unit. How close it is remains to be seen. Come on Paul, spill some stories. The aerial, sounds good. But I really want the colours confirming for september. Shark blue and Orange????????? Yes or No Also will electric blue be available across the range??? Cheers ![]() |

Offline | I really like your site by the way, always looks really clean and stylish. I try to make sure that while all SORTS of stuff pops up on here, I like to try and verify those I've had verified or 'not denied' (much the same things). ![]() Our trials and tribulations living in a "bleeding edge" eco house... Offline | Thanks Paul! I think it goes without saying that we all really appreciate the work you do for this site and the MINI community. Even if you won't spill some of the bigger rumors ![]() ![]() |
