check minicherished and look for comparable cars in your area. Remember they are dealership prices - if you find an identical model, knock a few hundred off for your price and be prepared to knock another couple off in negotiations. Should do pretty well with a private sale though. Good luck

Re: Second hand value Sorry can't help with what a dealer will offer but if I were you I'd visit as many dealers as practical to get the best offer for your car and place the order with them for the S. A month or so before your new car is due for delivery advertise it privately, hopefully selling it for £1k or so more than the dealer is offering. Then just pay cash for your new car. When I ordered my ONE I actually told the dealer that I'd try and sell privately. They were pretty good about it and actually agreed that was the best thing for me to do since their offer for my Punto was terrible. I sold privately for £1k more than their trade in offer.

I reckon the dealer will offer you around £12000 to £12300 just based on the fact I was offered £11500 with fewer options, and that this is trade in. Let us know what you were offered. Would add £1000 'ish to that if selling privately. adios CHILLI RED, CHILLI PACK, MAGNEX & PIPERCROSS BAGS OF FUN gone now but not forgotten, an s next time ?

I've been trying to sell my car for a few weeks now it is very similar spec to yours but with more miles and was registered in April 2002 I originaly advertsied (admitadly too high at £13,750)and recieved no calls I changed the price to £13,550 still no calls (apart from garages/dealers) I have now lowered my price to £12,995 and it has been advertised for the last week in a few places for that and still no calls My main source of advertising is the autotrader which frankly for me has been a waste of money.I agree with what others have said see what your dealer will offer you and then add some on top although even though my price now reflects this (I was offered 12k)Im still to recieve a private call. I certainly wouldn't leave it till a couple of weeks before you pick up the S you could be in for a suprise as I was, the so called high demand and high residuals are in my mind are over hyped. Even so like me I would try and sell for around £13,000 sorry to be the deliverer of negative news, i just dont want to see a fellow Mini owner ending up having to trade in your car cause you haven't sold it Good luck hope you get what you want for it and hope you have great fun with the S MINIless since 2nd of June @12:35pm 2003
