Free Mug from MINI (USA owners)

I'm curious as I've seen several people mention this ...

Did everyone receive a free front cupholder mug from MINI? I almost bought one when I test drove an MCS this weekend, but don't need to if one comes with the car (in 2 months).

Not that I'll use it, I just want it to put on the bookshelf in my office

Did anyone in the US not receive a free mug from MINI?

Thanks in advance!

I think you will find that many did not. It came as part of a care package program that some missed out on. I see no pattern. Good luck.

Buy one now. There are two unusable cupholders.

Seriously- One for office one for car. Not bad if you get the freebie.

My salesman (a Brit by the way which made a REALLY authentic sales experience) told me to expect a sort of welcome package from MINI with a cup included, and he hinted that there were other items too but would not say what. We will see, its been only 3 weeks or so, nothing yet.

MINI mug

MINIUSA e-mailed me and stated that I would receive a package from them in 8 weeks. Didn't say what would be in the package.

I got one...

I understand some folks who bought "demos" did not and were understandably peeved. If you don't get it, you're not missing all that much, mine is like a dribble glass due to the fit of the lid on the cup. (Or maybe I have a drinking problem)

Chili Red / Black Roof Cooper "S", delivered Aug 5, 2002.

I did not get a mug, but about 2.5 mos. after getting my car, I received a box in the mail with some rather useless stuff, in my opinion.
-a MINI messaging kit... little cards you can give messages with
-The book of financial services
-A black notebook -- this one is ok.
-2 interstate Highway Bingo cards
-A pen with a MINI moving -- this one is ok too.

I guess it is fun just to receive something for your purchase, it surely doesn't happen with all cars. My hubby just got a new car, and he received a $100 dinner certificate in the mail. I'm looking forward to that one!

MC 03 Indi blue/roof same, sport pkg, lxy pkg, cold wht. pkg., chrome mirrors
MCS on order - wait... but with a big grin!

Picked MINI in mid-March. No cup, but did receive the "Welcome to the Neighborhood" kit today which came wrapped in red paper inside a cute little box:

1) MINI Note: Welcome to the family blah, blah, blah signed by Jack Ptiney, General Manager, MINI USA--No, not original signature)
2) MINI Messaging Kit (Message cards in a CD holder. They read: Hey, Sexy; Put Down the Cell Phone and Enjoy the Ride; Emergency. Please Send Help; Blank Notepad to write your messages)
3) MINI Motoring Journal (Blank pages to write notes/draw pictures)
4) 2 Interstate Highway Bingo cards (to play bingo with road signs)
5) MINI Roadside Assistance card (plastic card for your wallet)
6) Foldout tiny booklet advertising MINI Sweaters/Jackets
7) Foldout wallet size card for the "Top 10 Idosyncrasies of Your New MINI"
8) MINI Pen (Little CR goes from Hollywod to New York when you tip the pen...goes backward when you tip the pen the other direction)
9) "Let's Motor" rubber binder

Received my "Welcome Kit" today, too. (21 May 03) Picked up my MCS on March 15th, though the card inside for auto assistance says it was "put in service" on 07 April. Heck, I had 1,500 miles on it by then!

Cheers all,

Dave

Gotten anything useful from MINI2? How about giving a little something back?

I, too, received my welcome kit this week. Quite a nice touch indeed.

I picked up my baby on March 11th, so we're all on about the same schedule it looks like. I wonder what's next??
