It means taking the box out I'm afraid. Modmini covers this in one of his youtube videos if you fancy having a go at it yourself. It could simply be a failed thrust bearing (it does happen) or maybe something else but you won't know until you get the box out
I'd get someone to cast their eye over it asap because if the thrust bearing shyts itself then you won't be able to drive the car and it could cause more damage. Did the clutch get fitted by a garage? Usually they offer some sort of guarantee, at least a year I'd imagine?
The garage who fitted the new clutch/dmf picked up on the fact that there was a noise but looking at the receipt they haven't investigated it. The box will have to come out for further inspection/ investigation I'm afraid to get this resolved
Your welcome dirtyharry. It could be something really simple like a guide tube but I didn't want to throw ideas into your head because at this stage we can only speculate. I personally don't think it's anything serious but your doing the right thing and having it seen to rather than ignore the fault. Keep us updated buddy [emoji6]
