Anyone know if it is possible to hire (rent) a MINI in Frankfurt or Amsterdam?

I'm going to be in Frankfurt for the auto show in September and am going to fly into either Frankfurt or Amsterdam.

When I was in Germany last year, I found I could hire a MINI, but it was going to be brought in from Vienna and cost $2,000 for the week! I chose the MB A-Klasse instead. A whole lot less fun, but $1,700 cheaper.

Almost a 3 year bump, but at least I can't be accused of not using the search function.

The only company I've been able to come by so far is this one:

Can't find anything "prestige" or "sporty" on the generic Hertz website, and only thing from Avis is the UK only avisprestige.com

I'm looking for a MINI Cooper S or Mk5 Golf GTI to hire for a few days in Germany.

So, not much progression in three years then.

Well, I've heard back from the company I linked to above. It is EUR290 per day (4 days total) for a Cooper S, which is still a lot, but I'd almost be willing to that. But we'd like to collect in Frankfurt and drop off in Berlin and for that we'd have to pay an additional EUR1280. Ouch!!!

So, any assistance you guys can offer me will be most appreciated.
