Hey guys, how do you replace the stock shift boot with another one? Since I have a chili red MINI Copper with black top, I want to get the shift boot in red leather. I saw a really nice one at Advanced Auto Parts for $17. Do you guys know if that would fit or do I have to get one made for the MINI? Also, how do you replace the shift knob? (TAKE IT OFF)

The MINI's shift snaps into place without twisting or screwing on.... so to remove it pull it straight up with a good bit of force and it will come free.

(no idea about your question concerning the shifter boot)

after knob is off the boot also just pulls straight up.. using the ring
