Angry Canadian warranty now 4 years/80K kms vs. years/60K kms??

Does anyone know why the Canadian warranty on current model year MINIs is 4 years / 80,000kms whereas my 2002 MCS has a warranty of 3 years /60,000kms?

Why wasn't the longer warranty offered on the 2002 model year vehicles and is it possible to extend the 3/60 to 4/80?

Am I the only one this bothers?!?

Jakearama.

My 2002 MINI Cooper has a 4 year/80K warranty. Are you sure about the 3 year/60K thing? Where did you read that?

Also, I thought there weren't any 2002 MCS in Canada, just 2003. Perhaps I'm wrong.

Perhaps jakearama is confusing warranty coverage [4 yrs / 80K kms] with free maintenance coverage [3 yrs / 60K kms]

it's better than the 2 yrs I got in Germany for the 2002 MCS or the 1 yr I got on my 2001 Cooper!

Red face Oops

Harry,
Thanks. You are correct, the warranty is 4/80 (must have been the sun beaming in through the roof, affecting my brain). It is a 2002 MCS though.

Miniac,
That is exactly what I am doing!

Unfortunately you're confusing the USA with Canada (easily done ). AFAIK, there is no free/cheap maintenance program up here.

Sorry ... I assumed our northern neighbors would enjoy free maintenance too
