Offline | Advice please -- bumper damage My MCS got bumped from behind a few weeks ago. It was enough of a knock to cause a minor indentation in the rear bumper -- probably from a bolt head on the license plate of the Volvo that hit me. The damage is not really visible -- if you know where to look you can find it -- but you can feel the dimple. Insurance will cover the repair, with no deductible or surcharge for me, to the tune of about $450 damage. Question is, is it worth it... First, I live and park in a fairly dense city, and I expect over time to get bumper dings. That said, I'm concerned that more visible paint damage may appear over time, or that there may be additional damage under the bumper cover, that will only be found by getting it removed and examined. That said, I want to avoid having matters made worse by work in the shop. Comments? ![]() |
