I've got a block of wood there. Nice railway sleeper. I've seen those pads but I don't know if they are any good. Is the wood better because it distributes the weight evenly?

Tomorrow's job for me is to fit new front brake pads on Hamish (my R55 Cooper D), strip, clean and reassemble the rear brakes and a brake fluid change followed by a polish and a coat of wax ::smile::
Sounds good Sean, my brakes have started squeezing, but I'm more concerned about the play in my steering. Will be able to see what's what when my jack arrives.
