New MINI gas mileage.

EDIT: I have an 03 MCS.

I know this has come up a whole lot recently, so I figured I'd pass on my experience with mileage this past weekend. I've now had my car a week, and gone 950 miles

First fill up 27.5 mpg
Second fill up 31.x mpg
Third fill up 32 mpg
Approaching my 4th fillup with 300 miles on the tank and 1/4 tank left.

Maybe I'm not driving the car hard enough?

On the plus side, I went from Cincinnati, OH to Lima, OH to Indianapolis, IN to Lima, OH to Cincinnati, OH from Saturday to Monday this weekend. The MINI was wonderful to travel in. Now I just need to get out of the break in period and wind him up.

Go Motor!

My first fill up

My first fill up in my new MCS has netted me 24 mpg.
I think that it will get better when it has broken in.

I went from 23.5 at first to 24, to 25 to 27. I hover around there in the city and a bit over 30 on the highway with my lead foot. Not too bad for the S.

Izzy is an '03 MCS, with PP, CWP. It's BRG on BRG. I know, BFD.

Recently Swamos and his lovely wife, drove their cooper 840km on a single tank of fuel. I'm sure if you asked swamos, he'd give you more info...

Do they hold the record yet?

We did 840 or so km, and put in more or less exactly 60 litres. I don't know how that compares around the traps. The OBC said it still had 45K more fuel

Around town, I am getting about 26-27 mpg. On the highway, the mileage is almost 32-33. I love it. Coming from a v8 Mustang that was lucky to get 20 mpg, this is unbelievable. When it comes to gas mileage, I wish I had the base Cooper. In the US, the Cooper is rated one of the 10 best cars for gas mileage.
