USB problem

Having problems with playing music from the cars usb port (2010 R56 cooper)

All cd's that I've copied to the usb are in folder, with a few albums on their own and its only playing one cd at a time from any album (within a folder or without) and sure it didnt do this at first, so when that cd and all it's tracks ends it just starts it again

Also for no reason every now and again it starts skipping on tracks ie volume goes down then back up. Doesn't seem weather or anything else dependant, just random. Only fix is to take usb stick out and refresh it on my laptop then it works again okay in the car... weird

Any advise?
Thanks

Try to format the stick with different file systems. Probably try FAT or Fat32 over NTFS. Worth a go.
