Focus on 16's, comfier ride

Have you tried contacting Minitech spares in Bury. They break lots of Minis so are bound to have a decent set of wheels?

Milpol likes this.

I live in Scotland and never use winter tyres and it gets cold up here sometimes. Whats actually wrong with your own rims, would it not be cheaper getting them refurbished?

I'd be looking for 16's too if my car was on 15's. I'd keep an eye on ebay and put a set of Spiders on it as they are pretty cheap to come by like this one in the link. Even at 40 delivered they are still cheap enough to have refurbished or paint them yourself!

50dwill, they won't shake your teeth out. The opposite. I have a set on my Volvo C30. They are very soft compound and the side walls are more flexible than summers. There is a very noticeable difference in comfort winters over summers. Mine are Kumho I'ZEN KW23 (205/55VR16). Same size as my summers for the car.

No you shouldn't use them in the summer. They are designed to be better at 7degree C or below and on snow and icing surfaces. Used mine in snow, the grip is incredible. Don't get a lot of snow here darn sarf but they are great when its down near or below freezing.
Use in summer will destroy them and they will be way out of their temperature operating window.

If people have a mo, see this Auto Express comparison winters to summers on snow. Eye opener.

My Runflats are Goodyear Excellence and they are fine. It depends on how you want the car to perform. If you like a stiffer ride then runflats are the ones for you but remember to carry a puncture repair kit or spare wheel if you change to tyres
