Offline | Alloy Patina v Anthracite Just ordered a cooper w/chili pack, IB/B, black half-leather kaleido, and can't make up my mind between alloy patina and anthracite! I've ordered harmon kardon too, so the speakers will be in silver anyway - anyone's views? anthracite be too dark? I saw AP this morning on an S and actually quite liked it. Anyone have any pics of AP with the black half-leather? Also, do you get that ring round the interior of the door in AP too, but the handle itself, as well as a bit of other trim (speedo/rev counter etc) is still in normal silver? |

Offline | To me the Alloy Patina looked like someone painted the panel and then took a tissue and tried to make swirl marks in it. It looks very amaturish. The Anthracite looks as though it was done by a professional and thought out. |

Offline | Graphite as in anthracite? I think anthracite is the classiest, but the only problem I have is my seats are also black half-leather so it may look a bit dark. Alloy patina would be the ideal choice 'cos it's halfway between silver and anthracite (don't like the silver, too bright/cheap IMHO), but I don't like the way there are different coloured dials to the dash etc! |

Offline | One more vote for anthracite, now 50/50! Anthracite works very well with Cosmos black and the red interior. I prefer it to Cosmos black with the red and alloy patina interior. I'm not so sure about which would work best with Indi blue though. If you can (difficult, because most dealers will only have a few MINIs in the showroom), compare both alternatives in the flesh, or try looking for your choices in the personal galleries. |

Offline | It's almost even now...! The AP has grown on me - I think it'll lighten up the car a bit (with it being a dark colour on the outside and black upholstry) plus the doors will tie in better with the silver H/K speakers. It seems the only finish suceptible to scratches is the brilliant silver, AP and Anthracite are fine as I understand it. I think it has to be Alloy Patina. 90% there :-) I can always change the silver bits when they bring out the proper bits (or when someone does!) in the future. All-black inside and dark colours on the outside will make it a bit dull I think. Plus the AP is more textured, shows up the detailing of the interior better IMHO :-) |

| MINI2 Master | Alloy Patina, I would refer you to my gallery, but I find Alloy Patina doesn't look anywhere near like it does on photos and also the photo by Jeep-2-mini above is a mirror image of my Cooper interior! ![]() I reckon the silver is far too bright and the anthracite has a 'base model' look to it. |

Offline | I find the alloy pantina very cheap looking. I was the only thing I didn't like about the S. The Anthracite looks great! It looks even better when the sun hits it because it sparkels. I'm very glad they came out with alternitives. Now if you could get a chrome grill for the S from factory. hhhmmmmm. tavis1 ![]() |

Offline | I have Alloy Patina on my ly/w mcs - a friend has Anthracite > Anthracite is better. Got alloy because I feared the interior would be too dark (w/space cloth - which is great), but with space cloth, anthracite would have been just right. james 2003 LY/W MCS, pulley, H-Sport, Alta intake, Alta Sway, Kosei K1 |

Offline | I have ordered a 2004 MCS (CR/W) with the Magnesium door panels and the Alloy Patina trim. I like the Allow Patina looks but I am also warming up to the Anthricite interior trim. It looks very high tech as it resembles tastefully done Carbon Fiber trim. However, I am currently debating about the color of my MCS (CR/W is nice but it seems that everyone has this color combo) so I am leaning towards either Indy Blue or Dark Silver. If I go with DS/W, I can only get the black Panther door panels (Magnesium panels are not available with the DS) so I was thinking of adding the Anthricite trim but fear it will look too dark inside. Does anyone can share a pic of a DS MCS with the Anthracite interior trim with the standard black door panels?? '02 MINI Cooper CVT On Order: 2004 MCS (Est production date: 9/5/03) |

Offline | Cooper4us, I just took some pix of our DS MCS with Anthracite interior trim & standard black door panels last evening. It was getting a little dark by the time my little brother got back with the car (from his 4th test-drive! ), but I'll see how they turned out & post them for you.Once the wife saw the Anthracite interior trim, she was hooked! A much different look than the others. Not better, just different. I've never wanted a car with a black leather interior, - it always looks classy, but just too dark....feels a bit like I'm in a closed-in, cave-like place. But the MCS' Black Panther color isn't really black & the thus, I agreed with the wife to go with it & the Anthracite. Besides, it was built that way, we grabbed it out of a dealer's allocation, just a few days before it hit their lot. ![]() It's interesting at least. ![]() |

Offline | No problem. It may be an hour or 2 yet, but I'll get 'em up asap. My wife nearly cried when she found we couldn't get the Pepper White on an MCS. Lovely, really! What interior color do you have with yours? & How's the CVT action? I was nearly considering one for her, seeing as how the HP can be bumped up 45 (or so they say). But the prices we found near us for the Pepper Whites Coopers had so many add-ons that it was enough to buy an MCS, -so, of course.... ![]() |
