From out of the mouth of babes.

Not really Mini related but I thought I'd share it.

At the weekend my two and three quarter year old son was looking through one of my Top Gear Magazines with me (he loves cars, especially my MCS), and we came across a picture of a VW Beetle to which he shouted out "Barbie Car".

I certainly haven't taught him this and all I could do was to break down into a fit of giggles.

Later on we went shopping at Tescos and while we were in the car park we saw a Beetle driving out to which my little boy shouted "there's a Barbie Car" again. Fortunately the Beetle had its windows wound up and the occupants didn't hear.

However, the crowning moment of the day was when we drove into a service station for petrol and there was a Caterham 7 parked. My little boy shouted out "There's Brum", as in the little car from the BBC Childrens Show. At least the windows of our car were wound up so that his comments couldn't be heard.

I've been calling them "boutique cars".

This is probably the reason why:

Clever boy! You do realise you're going to have to fund his petrol addiction...

Children and cars...

I have two daughters, 2 and 4 years old. They both love the new Beetle for some reason. When they see one they scream, "Beetle car!!!!" They like MINI's too, though and they can spot one easily. Occasionally they confuse one or the other for a PT Cruiser. I think the name mixes them up. Sometimes they do it on purpose...with a sly little grin. In any case, I'm amazed at thier recognition skills.
