United-Kingdom Sprucing up a gold MINI

I know I'm setting myself up here for some stick, as I've gathered that the gold MINI isn't too popular on this site, but someone suggested to me to put some black stripes or decal on my solid gold cooper. Not sure if they were taking the p***, but the idea is growing on me. What do you suggest? Works kit being fitted in two weeks, so could get it done at same time.

Please don't suggest the obvious like respraying it or putting a bomb underneath it I know what you lot are like!!

Is it all gold? If so, I reckon black viper stripes could be kind of cool. I think a black MINI with silver viper stripes is pretty cool (I think addman has this?), and this would be a sort of colour reversal! Just a thought. Mind you, I'd have gone for CR/W in the first place anyway

have you got the black bumper inserts and a black grill?? they would suit the car.

black vipers would look good too.

I got no beef with the Gold color. The gold is what sold me a few years back, pre-release when Road & Track or MotorTrend tested it in Europe--cept, if I recall, it had a white roof (They photoed next to a Gold original too). Actually, I don't think there is a color I don't like.

I assume you got the black roof. Yeah, stripes could make it look pretty aggressive. Post some pics of the install!

What kind of wheels do you have? If silver alloys, then silver stripes with black accents would be very classy.

get the front windows tinted, whip out the chrome inserts and the chrome grill. change the chrome grill for the aero kit one (or the ONE one...) change the bumper inserts to black ones (ask your dealer...he can get them) black viper stripes.....should look pretty smart.

I think your solid gold MINI looks mighty fine as is right now (not everyone on this site dislikes gold - I reported from the Detroit Auto Show that the gold MINI was the crowd favorite).

I think Minty's advice is perfect. Please post pictures of "before" and "after."

Note to Paul - maybe we should have a special makeover section in the gallery or ?

I'd vote with Minty's suggestion as well, and it should be only a few hundred to do, and will be quite different from the average chrome MINI. So you'll be unique and have quite a smart looking car. There's plenty of black on the car now, why not take advantage of the black and gold look.

Gold's not my favorite color, but its a much better deal then saying asking if you should trade your MINI for a gold Golf.

Are the smoked out taillights available yet? Those would look quite good as well...

Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball.

Agree with Minty,

Only would add more - Change the alloys to darker color or if you really want to stand out add 17"- 18" chrome wheels...

Cool

I like gold coloured mini but it should be gold/gold and
like ds/ds aerodynamic kit makes it perfect.. and I think
even it is gold and would take chrome paket (mirrors ect..)
17"-wheels..
When I ordered my Cooper S, dealer said to me that I can order gold colour S... but that colour you can get only to
cooper... sad thing.
Golden mini is going to be very nice, take it!!!!!!!
