Offline | Had some old friends of my wife over to the house last night for drinks and during a long conversation about various cars ( he has worked with classic Jaguars for years) we got to the subject of the MINI. " Well I have heard that MINI'S have no boot space" he pronounced, "so I think that it would only be usable as a second car" I was trying to be polite, so made a joke about only being able to fit one and a half sainsburys smart boxes in the back but joking aside said that he should come outside and I could show him the car. As we walked out I pressed the key to unlock and walked to the back of the car and opened the boot, " Not so bad and you can fold the seats down" I said and he looked quite impressed and after showing him over the car he said "I take it back, this is a car that could be used every day, it really is quite practical" Having happily converted his opinion, I shut the tailgate and it did'nt lock, I shut it again and it was if the lock was permanently open, I tried locking the car and unlocking it but the Bl**dy tailgate just would'nt lock, of course this guy had been watching my stress and said he thought that the lock was broken and perhaps I should get some string to tie it shut for the night. On leaving he said "shame about that tailgate problem I was begining to like that little car" I was back where I started and now, I know that all I had to do was hold the unlock button on the key! How stupid am I Astro Black Cooper, bullets, leather, tints etc |

Offline | My boot occasionally doesn't close too. I find that it is as if the open catch stays open - I have to 'reset' it by pressing the boot open button again, while the boot is still open. Weird. gm ![]() Very special 'chillied' red and white Cooper, 17" alloys, and a very proud owner ![]() Born on 3 January 2003. |
