After having problems with my current car (Cooper) and writing a letter of complaint to MINI, the dealership decided to order me a new one (Cooper S) as replacement.
The terms were:
1. That I was able to use my current car until the new one arrives.
2. I pay the difference between the two, which works out to be around £2000.
Now they are saying I need to pay an additional £1500 for the use of the Cooper. They can't just come up with that charge without any warning. They didn't even mention that when ordering the new vehicle. Some people just don't have £1500 in the pocket.
Time for another letter to Mr Houghton-Berry.

Sorry to hear that Kinster
I've made sure that when I'm trading my car in they have given me a quote based on the milage I anticipate it'll be when my new car arrives. Not at todays price which is bound to go down.
MINI, RX8 and MX5 - Done those............. It's now TTime Unofficial MINI2.com bean counter
Don't want to muddy the water's here, But
Kinster did you get anything in writing, and
Martin have you got anything in writing.
I know the dealers/salesmen can be nice and try to help, but time moves on and things can change.
Then it looks as Kinster has found out, It's hassle time.
So am I suppose to pay an additional £1500 for a faulty car that I have already paid for? Is it my fault for driving around in a faulty car? I didn't even ask for compensation for loss of work and bonuses. I think £1500 should solve that problem!

This kind of thing happens all the time, and you just know that they are just going to put the car straight back on the forecourt and let some other poor *** buy it without fixing a thing....
Can't believe you've lucked out with another bad car Paul, what on earth is wrong with it??
It's hard sometimes to beleive that people can get lumbered with cars that are so bad that they need to be rejected.... especially after we had one of the first Coopers and that didn't have ought wrong with it, and have since taken delievery of two MCS's that haven't had any major issues - true, one had a couple of mechanical failures, but this was were parts failed rather then 'lemon' syndrome type issues...
