Can anyone suggest an online or phone method of doing a Higher Purchase check on a vehicle to make sure there are no outstanding finance arrangments on it?

There is on offered by parkers, but its £35!! Seems a little steep.

Yeah, if you want to check if their is outstanding finance, you can on a Orange network mobile phone with W.A.P. It's about a tenner and it will tell you if the car is on condition alert register and also any outstanding finance and any plate changes.
It's like a MINI (get it!!!!!!) H.P.I. Check.

Thankfully I didnt have to do a HP check in the end...as I bought from the local MINI dealership.

For anyone that does ever need such info though, www.parkers.co.uk has a useful section about HPI checks.

I used to work for Parker's up until a month ago, the data check service is highly recommended. £35 is good value!
