Question Okay, I just joined the "wait til October" club but I'm having second thoughts...

My new MINI S will be a second car for me. I'm in a company car for most of the week. The S will be my "fun car" on weekends. (when I get weekends) Anyway, to ease my pocket book a little, I'll probably lease. (I tend to want to change every 2-3 years...I know, it's a character flaw) So my question is this:

I ordered the '04 (so far DS/W) to save depreciation, new car, etc., yada, yada, yada. But now I'm wondering whether all that is worth an extra month/month-and-a-half waiting and a slight price increase. If I order an '03 now I could probably be driving it late August instead. But it would be an '03...

What do you wise Mini-afficionadoes think?

I had this dilemma to, but have stuck with my original plan of taking delivery on September 1st.

The main reason being I don't know what the price increase will be and I think I'm right in saying that the new features for the new model are phased in thoughout the year so I may not get all the extra features if i order early in the model year. So I'm getting mine now and not waiting

Buy now. If you can be in the car by August, go for it.

You are CHOOSING to wait

You mean, like...on purpose?

Is this one of those growing stronger through pain spiritual exercises?

Order the car now! Delayed gratification is over-rated.

I'd have to agree with most of the previous posts, buy, buy, buy. For the sake of an extra widgit you'll be missing out on getting yourself into one great car as soon as possible.

I must admit I don't see what the fixation is over waiting for the next year model release. I think there was someone back in March asking if he should wait for 04. I know, I know, you're thinking about resale or extra bits. Stop thinking about selling it before you have even bought one, go out and grab that salesman by the ears and get your scrawny butt in that car Mister!!!

Thanks, guys. I appreciate all your subtle hints at what I should do. I've been hitting my head with a board and holding my hand over an open flame to get used to all this waiting. I'm glad to find a place that is into instant gratification.

Okay, now to figure out EXACTLY what I want on my new machine....Thanks again!
