MINI is a roomy coupe - no problem

I think part of the reason some journalists criticise the rear seat space is that the original Mini was all about space efficiency, and the new one certainly isn't. BMW have built on the tradition of the old Mini Cooper - the emphasis being on performance and handling in a small package - rather than on the original Mini which was all about maximum interior space in an economical, cheap car (that just happened to be great fun to drive).
