Offline | I ordered my MCS on 4th June 2003. My car completed production on 19th June 2003.That means from the order being processed to finishing production a delay of LESS THAN TWO WEEKS ![]() Delivery to the dealer: Week 27. Available for collection: Week 28. I return from my holiday in England: Tuesday, Week 29. This is not what I planned ![]() The good news: - I have the rest of Week 29 as holiday to drive my new car ![]() ![]() - and I thought I would have to take extra holiday in August Can anyone beat this production lead-time? Offline | My cooper is now delivery week 32 (I think) 18th August is the date given. I ordered in May 20 something??...So you are lucky...I wonder if the Cooper delay time is higher due to more Cooopers being bought (cheeper to buy and way cheeper to insure for us young uns) than S's?! |

Offline | The explanation that I got from the dealer is that they had not used up all of their allocation of cars for the month and so my car simply got built as part of the 'allocated quantity' It seems that all countries and all regions get an allocation of cars which can't be exceeded - Hamburg obviously has a larger allocation at the moment than it needs. It seems that the concept of 'first come, first served' doesn't apply when ordering cars. Seems a bit unfair, but who am I to complain ![]() David 2003 Mini Cooper S - DS/B |
