| MINI2 Regular | Cooper S come with Floor matts? So before i got my car i tried to get the floor matt set and rubber boot liner thrown in free... needless to say it was a no go and the dealer told me NO WAY do they give away free stuff since he said "I could take the car to CA and sell it 3500 over msrp why would we offer any thing free?" Anyway picked my car up 3 days ago (best car ive ever ownd by the way, im all grins driving that thing) AND it had all the mini logo floor matts AND the rubber boot matt. my question is, are those items standard with any new cooper? or did the dealer feel nice and throw them in free for me? or did the lines of communication get messed up and someone put them in thinking i had ordered them and left them in even after the sales manager said i couldnt have them free. I checked over my paperwork already and i didnt pay for them thats for sure. sorry for the long post just trying to see if i get soemthing for nothing or if its standard! thanks -Charles |

Offline | Your dealer gave you a bit over a $100 freebie (that's what wholesale price on the mats are..) And I don't think $3500 over MSRP is quite what they're at on the west coast anymore, but doesn't really matter. Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball. |

Offline | The worst dealers here (Universal MINI) are Still trying to get $6000 over for a MCS. Only now they are negotiating, before it was take it or leave it. I "left it" and went to Long Beach MINI (the only SoCal dealer selling at MSRP). Now Universal wants $7000 for the JCW kit, so the rip-off continues ![]() ![]() |

Offline | Here in San Antonio I got the front and back carpet mats for free (and I noted the other salesmen were doing the same at the Mini-Center). Probably for not hassling them about the MSRP (but it is a great little car worth every penny of the MSRP). |

| MINI2 Regular | I've heard a lot of nasty stuff about Universal. I'm just happy to live on the East Coast now rather than L.A. so I don't have to put up with that type of price-gouging. Ever file a complaint against them with MiniUSA? I would think that kind of sleazy practice goes against the ethos of Mini (I know, I know...a car dealer/company with ethics?...hehe). $7000 for the JCW kit is absolutely ridiculous. That's truly disgusting. |

| Let's Motor. | Take your Mini, and don't look back! ![]() Just kidding. The dealer maybe got told by a person higher up to give the free floor mats. Who knows, all I know is you got damn lucky as did I. I got the floor mats for free, but I bought the boot mat 7 months down the road. ![]() Adam ![]() |

Offline | Sad really, So if you're negociating, you could get it down to $3500... Oh well. I wonder if the people who bought there are both to embarressed to post on here, or b. just into the car for non-enthusiast reasons and are willing to pay that much. Where's that guy who keeps complaining about his $500 discount.. He should go to Universal and haggle with them, clearly they're the ones not listening... Anyway, seems like its a good thing we're now moving into free boot mats as well. Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball. |

Offline | Mini USA dosen't care. Mini USA just suggests a price hence the name MSRP.What the dealers do is up to themselves. Its sad they got to rip people off and personaly it should be against the law IMO. The only thing you can do is not buy from them. our choice is to either buy from Long Beach over one year wait, or buy from East Bay in San Francisco and from what I understand they are shady also. The other alternitive is to order from the east coast but have to pay for shipping and deal with DMV hassels(we have the worst in the country laws, regulations and they just tripled the car registration fees) Tavis1 ![]() |

Offline | So does anyone have a good web site where I can purchase rubber floor and boot mats? I have looked all over, even at miniusa.com, and can't find them. No doubt my dealer would charge me more than an internet site. Thanks. ![]() |

Offline | Standard discount over here without going to hard is $1000, floor mats are free. Truth be told they can't shift the things for love nor money. My dealer recently told me he'd had a massive month as he'd sold three. Oh yeah no wait either, showrooms full of 'em. |

Offline | Hmmmm.... $7000 / 1.85 = £3783........ Which is what we pay for the JCW conversion in the UK........ So are you trying to say that we are being ripped off for JCW.......I think you are! Out of interest, what does the JCW usually retail at? Robert |

Offline | MSRP for the kit is $4500 actually, without the installation. There's certainly a benefit to the exchange rate. Of course in the US I'm pretty sure they still expect the old parts back, or they charge you extra. (Who knows what they do with them, but they want them) Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball. |
