Offline | why 1.6 for mcs? Why is the MCS at a displacement of 1.6 rather than 1.8 like the naturally aspirated MC? i thought there was no replacement for displacement, as they would say. Im seriously thinking about getting a MCS just cuz i have a love for small cars with power. I currently own a 94 civic hatch back that has 220 hp naturally aspirated. I believe that the MCS has alot of potential thats why i want one. I just dont get why they didnt stick with the 1.8? |

Offline | Given time, someone, somewhere, will install a M3 engine soon. And at the same time they'll add a 5ft whale tail spoiler......... But, each to their own. There is just one moon and one golden sun; And a smile mean friendship to ev'ryone; Through the mountains divide, and the oceans are wide; It's a small world after all. |

Offline | @wsw That is not a MINI with an M3 engine, itīs more an M3 with MINI looks. The technical modifications neccessary for that transfer are very huge, no matter which way you choose. But you can see that the car is much bigger than a MINI (BMW 3-series wheelbase) and the engine bay looks completely different from the MINI. However, which way you call it, but that could be the result if you park a MINI next to an M3 in the garage on a romantic summer night. ![]() Klaus Donīt bother me with: Vans, SUVs and Grandpatronic |

Offline | As some one said .. give it some time. Since the engine used in the Mini is Shared with some of the UK Chrysler products (Neon and PT cruiser) and the trannie is same type as the Ford Focus. Wouldnt doubt that its possible with a little Hood massaging to put the Neons 2.0 or even the 2.4 liter engine in the Mini. Personally i dont know the dimentions of the two engines to say for sure. but someone will get around to tring it sometime 02 MCS DS/W (Totaled November 02 on Fall Folage Run) 03 MCS DS/W (See my MINI Profie for extensive list of mods) |

Offline | My thoughts exactly - and the name is in UPPERCASE too... shouldn't it be I LOVE SMALL CARS ??? and also if he/she is 'thinking' of buying MINI then you would of thought they would have read some sort of road test reports that give the engine sizea.. So then I LOVE HONDAS - is this the case sir/madam? or should your name really be 'I HATE MINIS COS NOBODY NOTICES OR CARES ABOUT MY HONDA ANYMORE'??? You must admit your name is a bad choice for a MINI forum.. |

Offline | Why did they even start with a 1.6? A 1.8 could have given the same fuel economy, if that was the worrisome point. If not, the Mini could have started off with at least 20 hp more in each configuration. It would have been a no-brainer to fit it in the same space. -- '03 S B/W |

![]() MINI2 Master | LOL! If you race, then fine, if not, why? This "I'm getting more HP than you" is starting to get a little childish IMHO. I bet that 95% of people that own a One couldn't drive it to its max, never mind a Cooper S. Why not spend the money on getting some racing lessons so that you can learn to use the full rev range and control the car? Mind you, even that's a total waste of money unless you're on a track! ![]() |
