For those of you who read Road & Track, Peter Egan, the Editor-at-Large, wrote a highly entertaining piece in the August 2003 issue on the temptations he is facing towards MINI ownership. His pieces generally bring the joys of classic British car ownership (read: restoration) to life and always rekindle fond, albeit twisted, memories of the many Triumphs and MG's that languished in my own garage and on the roadside. It's worth a read.

Not only does Mr. Egan write for Road & Track but he also writes for Cycle World. Also writing about classic British iron, in the two wheel variety.

Has anyone else seen the cute centerfold advertisments that MINI has run for the past two months in Cycle World. Cute cones!

Peter Egan is a great writer. He has a very gentle (and genteel) way of communicating that I envy, because my prose is very pedantic and deliberate. And he never fails to be entertaining either, whether writing about his brother or the travails of restoring a vintage Jaguar.

He's easily up there with Robert Cumberford, Tom Ford and the (late, lamented) Russell Bulgin.
