Is the MINI a Gay "Icon" ?

I ordered my Pepper White/black roof Cooper that's expected in July. Does that mean I'm gay...oh, ya...I figured that out about 15 years ago...before I bought my first car - a Honda CRX...

From what I have observed here in San Francisco the car
appeals to both straights & gays, young & old , black & white.

I was considering buying a Miata before the Mini came out.
Over & over I was told the Miata is a "gay guy's car".
Even my wife said this!

Subaru advertises heavily in gay mags and has for many years. No one ever said it was a gay car company. It just founda compatible market sgment and zeroed in with the marketing.

Anyone who wants to have fun will love the Mini, along with liking the cute looks.

SUBARU is gay? hmmm yeah they did nick name their big boy car REX, *giggles* sorry all I just spent 20 minutes reading this whole thread so I am as guilty as any. I also own a Honda CRX and copped a lot of flack for driving a "girls car"

CARS are CARS, to the best of my knowledge they have no sex life, so no cars are neither straight nor gay, except for mini juniour, who has a bi car.

I was looking through the latest issue of "Automobile" magazine at the newstand yesterday. There was an article on the Cooper S. I was stunned to read in the article that the author stated that this was the first car to be openly targeted at the gay community or something to that effect.

That was the first time that I had seen any reference like that in a car mag. Has anyone else seen this article?
