Unhappy Loads of Problems?

Help me here. I have a Cooper which has done only 9000 miles, but you have scared me! Now I could a lot of money for the car if I sold it. But if higher mileage MINIs tend to fail then I am sure the resale value will dump considerably.

Cheers,
Jonathan

I wouldn't worry too much, mine has covered 20,000 in just over a year. I've only had the occasional niggly problem, but they were at low mileage

Bear in mind it is a driving school car hacked to pieces daily!!! Its not necessarily a reflection on MINI!

Its has new clutches, gearbox, knocking from suspension, drifting, wheel reaalignment, rattles and I think dodgey brakes.

I have a little over 11,000 on my S, and while I've had a string of minor probems (currently, foggy taillight and gas gauge that reads empty when it's not), the car always starts, always stops, and has never stranded me. I've had two British cars previously, and another with a British engine, so I take my niggles in stride.

Good to hear all those encouraging posts. I really like my car and would be sad to sell. Plus, with the Pipercross Induction Kit it sounds so very nice...

Cheers.

13,000 in 4 months, and only two minor problems that were fixed right away. Hoping that I find all growing pains before I run out of warrenty. Considering getting a "POS" for some daily driving.

Yellow Cooper 22K in 9 months

Mines a work hack so it gets abused regularly.

So far only a kerbed alloy, three chips in the screen, loads of paint chips along the leading edge of the bonnet, occasional refusal to go into 1st or reverse.

All in all, as reliable as my Golf GTI that it replaced and 1000 times more reliable than my TR7!

33K miles since 4/16/02.

Rear brakes replaced, 2 windshields, and a number of minor problems.

Smile Is that all

My Cooper has done 51k miles in 14 months. No problems at all apart from some recalls early on. Would pass "as new" if I ever washed it!

I do lots of motorway miles so the services are very far apart, I change the oil between services and I really think this car will do 200k + miles. No rattles, squeaks or anything. Just 2 new windscreens (stone chips)
