Offline | Figaros are actually quite common in the part of the South Coast of England where I live (relatively speaking); I've seen at least four of them in the last couple of months but that's probably because there's a local importer that brings them in for sale. From memory, they are right hand drive only and only a few thousand are produced; use the words "Nissan Figaro" in Google for more information. (And that pale green colour looks good in real life as well!) I have considered buying a Figaro but there is one big disadvantage to them; they are designed for small people so anyone who is 6ft tall like myself is likely to have their head sticking through the roof! Let us know how you get on with a custom paint job if you decide to have it done - it's a pity that Silk Green was axed. ![]() |

Offline | You mean these? ![]() This was more than a year ago so they are probably not there anymore, and no it isn't a Photoshop job! There is an industrial park at Hook (a small place in Hampshire, England just off the M3 motorway) where BMW/MINI Financial Services is based - I just happened to be travelling along the road nearby and my eye caught a BMW/MINI sign so I decided to stop and take a closer look. Luckily I had a digital camera with me when I saw them, and other people have also spied something similar on a transporter so they could have been moved to different places for promotional purposes. Or even sold to private owners by now! ![]() I may be in the area again in a week's time so I may - time permitting - check to see if they are still there. |

Offline | Its an early 1990's Nissan Figaro. I think it was only sold in the home Japanese market. It has a lot of MINI Cooper design cues, doesn't it? '02 MINI Cooper CVT On Order: 2004 MCS (Est production date: 9/5/03) |

Offline | No to new paint job Thanks to everyone for posting their opinions about repainting my MINI. That's what I like most about these forums-they give you ideas and other points of view that you hadn't thought of, which is exactly what I needed. I can get rather fussy about the appearence of my MINI and had underestimated the amount of work, hence money, that would need to go into changing the color of a car and not being able to tell that it had been changed. At some point, the cost/benefit ratio gets too out of whack. Yes, I could get a silk green, (great color in my opinion), but it's just not the same. Thanks again, I really appreciate your help. My MINI was born a BRG, and that's the way it will stay. ![]() |

Offline | Just as an aside, when I posted that Figaro pic I'd never actually seen one in the metal, still less a pale green one. Guess what rolled into our office car park today and stayed for the day... ![]() MC CR/W, Anthracite, 15" 7-Hole, SS+, AC, SR, CD+HK, Fogs, Mirrors/Jets |

Offline | hey now, thinking about having my car traded out thru the dealer. 24 visits to the shop. Now not all of the visits would constitute a lemon but in my case it might apply. The major prob is that jet black isn't a stock color anymore. I've got an 05 cabrio S with 20,000 mi. 3rd clutch, 4th set of font end bushings. The miniusa web offers a custom paint shop, but I'm told that it's only for fun. Why would it be up if I can't take advantage of this service?Seems a bit like bait and switch. Now all of the other colours are nice, but nothing compares to my sexy jet black! Like wet licorice. I've been asked by the dealer, what do you want?, My f$#@ng original colour! I'm bieng traded out as a result of mechanical error at 5000 mi. The whole front end is wonky. Am I stuck with that lifeless astral black?! Or is the custom paint on the web for real?My car is 2 years old and looks absolutely brand new, as a result of all of my diligence in keeping her clean and a yearly detaling of her body. Oh the service at San francisco BMW, hmmm. I hope this is the right spot for my thread, if not I apologize. Any ideas. please |

Offline | Not really understanding your post Pops Racer, but just because they're not currently producing solid black MINIs is no reason they cannot get and use the colour (if that's what you're saying). Any bodyshop, let alone an official BMW/MINI one can get the correct colour to match your solid black paint. Our trials and tribulations living in a "bleeding edge" eco house... Oxley Woods Living |
