If anyones interested, Russ Swift is doing his thing in the MINIs at Lloyds of Carlisle on Saturday 19/07, first show approx.10:00 a.m.
Apparently it`ll be a similar thing he did at the Motor show.
Its all part of the 2nd birthday celebrations for the new MINI and the fact that the Carlisle dealership is now on its own away from the BMW section (moved into new showroom).
Its being touted by them as one of the biggest MINI showrooms in the country.
And after seeing some others, theyre not far wrong, as they have a great selection of cars.
They have the JCWS demo if you fancy a spin.
If you fancy it, its right off Junction 44 off the M6 onto the A7 into Carlisle, then turn right where the traffic lights are at the Jaguar Dealer, then MINIs on the right hand side approx 200m in.

I saw him at the opening of our new local dealership. Unbelievable driving skills. People who can't parallel park could learn a thing or two!

I've seen Russ Swift in action several times and been staggerd by his car control. However, I saw him arrive in the paddock at the top of the hill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on Sunday and all he did was turn his Peugeot 206 rally car round carefully and wait to go back down the hill. Very boring!! At least Johnny Herbert and Allan McNish did some doughnuts for us!

Thats the same MCS I was in yesterday when Russ was doing his dance routine. It was absolutly fantastic and a great laugh. If you get the chance, get in with him.....you wont regret it!!

The person who was in the passenger seat when he went on to two wheels climbed out of the side window a started to wave at everyone. Brave lady.

Slightly off-topic. That's an S isn't it? How did he get the smaller tyres over the big brakes?

He did have a complete set of 5 star alloys on a trailer
maybe he changes them when driving on the road.

Does the Cooper S have bigger brakes ?

Russ said he puts the thinner 15" wheels/tyres on as they dont grip as much as the 16s and 17s, so he can slide the car easier.
He also said he thought the cooper was quicker of the mark on the short bursts he does, as the supercharger doesnt really kick in on the 'S'

No. The exact same are brakes fitted to all MINIs (including the ONE and D).
