Offline | I hear you! I don't absolutely have to have it but I would really like to read it ahead of time like the website says we should. I did email MiniUSA.com and asked about it. I'll be sure to post if they let me know. In the meantime if someone has the 2003 manual see if you could post it as an attachment for us all. Take it easy, Eric |

Offline | Just read this at www.bridger.us/mini ------------- New Cup Holders Coming for the MINI? From a reader: "I had a chance meeting with a higher-up from MINIUSA in a Rental Car shuttle at LAX and he mentioned in passing that 2004 would also include additional cup holders that connect to the downtube and flip out from the empty space under the console." "He did also mention that they would likely also offer it as a part so people could order it if they wanted for older models." ----------- Interesting. Michael |

Offline | Paul M. mentioned in the lead post that orange will only be on the convertible mini coming out in Summer 2004. I held off buying a base mini till 2004 just to wait for the orange, but I do not want a convertible. I hear electric Blue might come to the base mini now too. Why do they not have all cars available in all colors!!! Now I might have to wait till 2005 model and hope they bring the orange down to the base model. How can mini be so stupid and not give customers what they want!? |

Offline | I feel your pain! I desperatly want an Orange/White MCS, but the convertable doesn't appeal to me. I don't know if I can wait another year in hopes that they will release it across the board. What ever will I do with the Tony the Tiger bobblehead, just won't look as grrrrrreat in a Chili Red or Liquid Yellow ![]() ![]() |

Offline | Re: MINI FINI After reading the comments under that article on bridger.us/mini, it appears that this cup holder IS the one by MINI FINI. Looks like they will be producing them for all the new MINIs? That is a large order and an impressive move on MINIs part to address this minor complaint. We are not talking about cracked engine blocks or oil sludge build up, this is just about cupholders. Nice to see an auto maker take care of the little things too. Michael |

Offline | There is a history of MINI caring about cups. Recall they did send out the MINI mugs to everyone with an apology note. Its not surprising, but still very good that they're making a more permanant solution, and one that you can use for sushi, cellphones and pictures as well. Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball. |

Offline | Yeah, I noticed that sushi dish on the mini fini site. Not a big "in car" sushi eater but maybe the rest of you are. But like they say on the website, great for holding anything else. I just wonder if the MINI FINI cupholder looks a little "tacked on". I realize it's basically an aftermarket item but I sort of like aftermarket items that make people think "hey, that is a neat factory option" rather than a patchwork of misc stuff. Make any sense? The function of the MINI FINI holder looks to be great but they just seem like something you would find at Pep Boys. Not that that is necessarily a bad thing, I buy stuff there too. I would just prefer (in a perfect world of magical rainbows and unicorns ) for a new more functional cupholder to be more built-in in appearance. Just call me an aftermarket snob, I guess. ![]() Michael |

Offline | I can barely eat sushi without spilling soy sauce all over myself. I wasn't actually planning on doing it in the car. (Besides, would need to find a drive-through sushi place anyway... and OH is far from trendy enough to have that). I dislike aftermarket parts that look aftermarket as well, but I wouldn't be too worried. People always seem to think the Tach on the steering wheel is aftermarket, so it gets a bit odd in the interior of the MINI. If the plastics match, then it'll probably look just fine. Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball. |

Offline | If Orange and Shark (non-metallic pale) Blue are going to be cabriolet specific colours AND Velvet Red is being axed AND Electric Blue remains exclusive to the S (keeping two colours exclusive for both S and cabriolet), then which colour is going to replace Velvet Red on the Cooper/One? And does anyone know of an exact timescale for the phasing out of Velvet Red - Silk Green was 'going to be axed' for months before it actually happened? |

| MINI2 Master | I don't have the official UK details I quoted from with me ATM, but unless otherwise stated all the 2004 changes were to come into effect from week 36 build on. IIRC there was no mention of Velvet Red being different to that. Also, IIRC, it said that there would be no replacement for Velvet Red. |

Offline | If the cabriolet is definitely going to be produced at the Oxford Plant then this would make sense since if the Oxford paint shop can only handle 12 colours at once, at least two existing colours would have to be dropped to make way for the two cabriolet exclusive colours. So if this is what is happening then another colour will be dropped altogether sometime early next year, and my guess is that it will probably be one of the blacks. |

Offline | Here's my email and answer from Mini about the 2004 owners manual being on the site. Just thought I would share for those anxiously awaiting their 2004. Question:I am awaiting my new Mini and it is scheduled for production in the first part of Sept. It will be a 2004. My question is I am not able to access the owners manual online. I can get the unathorized version but not the true owners manual. Is it because it is a 2004 or is the unauthorized one the only one available? Please let me know. Answer: They are still in the process of assembling the 2004 MINI Owners Manual. As soon as it is available it will be posted on the Owners Lounge. Sorry for the inconvenience. Please let us know if you have any more questions. LET'S MOTOR. MINI Division Customer Relations 866-ASK-MINI Take it easy, Eric |

Offline | Just got my production number from MINIUSA for my 2004 S. I was under the impression that the 2004s were starting production in Sept. I waited for a 2004 and have an early spot (according to my dealer, at least) but the info in the Owners Lounge says the estimated production date for my car is 10/3/03. I was hoping for production about a month earlier. Looks like I may be getting that rear fog light coming on the 2004s after all. If it's still set to start with the October builds. Man, I really don't feel like waiting until November to get my MINI. Errrrg! For those getting a 2004, what is your estimated production date? Michael |
