Offline | Just a quick question guys:- What's the best way to put the bonnet back down and click it into place after it's been lifted up? The only thing I've been able to do so far, is click one side down (using both hands and a firm downward motion), then do the other side, but this surely can't be the correct way? With such a graceful hydraulic lift, surely there's a better way to get it back down again? ![]() |

![]() I Just Can't Get Enough | Push it down with a little bit of force from about 6 inches, makes a c**p noise but it works better than pushing it down half at a time. Only other way I can think of is to pull the release catch up when its right down and let i drop into position. I'll go and try that now! ![]() ![]() |

Offline | Just give it a little shove from about half way down, let it 'thump' down, don't worry about it too much, just don't 'pussey' about with it - it can handle it. What ever you do, don't lean on it to shut it.... |

Offline | Thanks for the help! It just didn't seem right "slamming" it down but if that's the way to do it then it's gotta be better than one side down at a time, 'cos that's gotta bend it if you do it enough! Since getting my Cooper on Monday, I can't keep away from it! As soon as I get out, I want to get back in again, and when I park it I can't help but keep looking back and standing and staring. ![]() ![]() |

Offline | That feeling doesn't wear off.... had mine eight months, still enjoy getting into it every morning, still give it a quick look when I am walking to my office, and its parked right in front of my office window, so I can see it any time of the day!! |

Offline | I grab one of the metal loops near the lamp assembly and pull the hood down, plus a little "assist" on the intercooler opening. Just takes practice to get it to where it *just* latches on both sides. Chip H. ex-MINI Cooper S owner and all around good-guy |
