Offline | Well you've convinced me. All you need to do is buy the 'trouble' a dozen red roses before you tell her Bill BRG/W MCS with UJ decal & white bonnet stripes |

Offline | OK guys seems every one says its ok to buy it. Even the wife is ok provided I fund the diff myself. However, I have just checked their web site. They have the car on at £16,705. Which to my reckoning is about £2300 more than my deal at present. The dealer didn't give me a firm price just an indicative amount. I will contact them in the morning and ask for a price to change over if it is around the £1800 mark, I am going to go for it. Indeed you only live once. However if it is more than that then, I would probably not live this once for very much longer. £1800 I can pay for myself in salary per month over 2 years, more than that it is getting heavy. Looks like I have to go for my wee chilli monster, heck I love tabasco anyway! Many thanks all for the interesting replies. But I am not sad in the slightest, just eyeing up option b as the definate way forward! Will post new car when I get it on Tuesday. Off work that day too, intend to have a blast round the Trossachs. |

Offline | point taken, am going to the dealership in next hour. I will see the car, confirm the spec, get a price to swap and exercise some of those flabby decision making muscles. Still love the look of classy chilli red/ white with 17-s spokes, red part leather interior and brilliant silver interior though. Reminds me of my first car, a ford escort mk2 in 1983, venetian red and loads of chrome! |

Offline | OK folks, just been to the dealer. They must think I am mental or something worse. I asked for a firm price to change, unfortunately, and as is the way of these things, the sales person just gave me an indicative price to change of £1700-£1800. The actual price to change is £2270. The line has to be drawn somewhere, so that's that the end to 24 hours of anguish. At last a decision has been made. The chilli red cooper is to be mine at 0900 on Tuesday morning. For completness have 2 pics, once I understand how to upload will do so should anyone be interested. |
