The pricing structure of both new and used Mini's continues to amaze me. Can anyone give me some advice please?

I'm looking at a used Mini Cooper 51 2002 with chilli pack, leather and air con, low miles in a good colour. Advertised at £12500. How much should I pay for a private purchase?

I think I'll let one of your countryfellows answer that one. What amazes me is that you guys live in the country where the car is built and yet you get screwed on the price of the car compared to what's paid for them over here!

The've got us over a barrel, despite the prices people are still queueing up to buy them!

you may be able to knock upto £500 of the asking price off a used MINI, but i dont know of any dealer that will budge on a new MINI.

I went to look at it today, it was an absolute skip. Totally neglected. It was filthy inside, the owner would have been better off with an Astra van. Made my mind up instantly, the profile leather looked awful, wasted 160 mile round trip. Very disappointed.

If you can stretch to a new one it might be worth it as waiting times seem to have come down a bit. Plus it'll be just how you want it.

I ordered mine today. Hopefully for a week 36 delivery (3rd week in Sept). Just to give you an idea!

The new option is tempting I must admit, I'm not keen on lining Mr Sytner's pockets any more he's quite rich enough.

I thought he was out of the equation since the United Auto takeover? They were trying to sell his E30 M3 recently.
