Personally I prefer the Cooper to the S, you get more chrome ! and I couldn't really stretch to the S and to insure forget it !
The red I beleive is available to order with cloth or cloth and leather, so if you have chili or not you should be able to have a red interior.
I have did try and stay sensible on costs hence the lack of factory fit audio ! but after seeing the chili blue with th e 17s I just had to go for it !

Personally, I gotta have the S, but as far as I understand it, the MINI in the US is not getting the option of cloth and leather. And the S doesn't come w/ red interior. Sucks for me.

Not that I am against the Coopers, it's just that amongst all MINIs in the States, it will be less common.
Amongst all the S's, DS seems to be pretty popular.
White is nice, but doesn't the MINI get dirty quickly?
White (and black for that matter) don't stay clean looking very long (they don't hide that dirt well).

Over here Coopers in Silver are ten a penny, at least near me, and I think that the Cooper S will end up with about 60% of owners going for DS:

1) It's only on the Cooper S and people will want to show off
2) People will still buy Coopers and S's in Pure Silver and won't look radically different.

I like DS and I also really like the EB colours on the S, however when mine comes it's not getting either of those as I expect most S orders to be in one of the 2 unique colours.

Fair enough, personally I had an order in for a Cooper way back when and thought that the S looked terrible on the leaked shots that I'd seen, however I swapped my order early and am now waiting for an S and I'm glad. I'll have to wait a year longer than I could have had a car originally, but what does that matter? It's allowed me to at least save up the difference between the cars anyway!

The way I see it is that I did good to hang on as the S has now grown on me so much that I far prefer it over the Cooper even in terms of looks alone; it also enabled me to 'prepare' myself for the Cooper S, sure insurance is going to be a ****er for me too but as I've been on a freebee with a company car for the last 4 years then I think that it's about time I payed it!
