Offline | Washing your mini What is it about a mini, that you makes you actually want to go out there on a Sunday and wash it? If houses were made of minis, we'd all have the cleanest homes in the land. |

Offline | I've been washing him quickly at the coin wash about once a week on my lunch break, but I'm suffering withdrawal since the huge storm here took out the power to all the coin washes. It's hard to work it in at home with a house fulla kids, but I may try it today. Had a homeless guy hovering around me the last time I used a coin wash and watching him mug for his reflection in my deep black paint made me giggle with pride! MINImeat B/W MCS |

Offline | I have had my cooper s just under 3 weeks now, and havn't personaly washed it once, well actually thats a lie, i washed the wheels of break dust on day 2 as the frounts had turned about 3 shades darker than normal. The Reason: When i picked up the car from the dealer i noticed a small scratch on one of the indicator stalks, so mentioned it to the dealer and he said bring it in next week and the'll change it. So i brorght the car in on my lunch break and went to collect it in the evening, the car came back all shiny and clean with a bmw calling card telling me that it had been curtosy washed and vacumed... Result! Unfortunatly they had orderd the indicator stalk for the mini with a trip computer and i have the SatNav. So then i had to bring the car back 5 days later to get the stalk replaced.. sooo i bring the car back get the stalk replaced and low and behold they cleaned and vaccumed my little beauty again ....Unfortunatly i noticed that evening that they had managed to take a tiny chip out of the paint on the door where they had hit it against somthing opening the door, the car had also started to develop a rattle in the drivers door so i booked it in for that at the same time..... Sooo i take the car in another 7 days later leave the car with them, collect my nice freshly washed mini and find that they fixed the door rattle but didnt have any Electric Blue touch-up paints in stock to fix the paint work. Well thats about it, 3 weeks, 3 washes by the BMW dealers... not bad at all. Ok it wasnt a perfect wash, as they only bung it through the BMW automated car wash so a few bug splats were left but as my weekends turn out to be pretty full its still better than a dirty car... Well that turned out to be a long ramble.... I am still looking foward to getting some time to myself at the weekend to give her a proper wash myself. Can anyone tell me if its safe to give it a good wash and wax yet or does the paint still need to set or somthing? the manual dosnt mention it and the dealer said nothing about it to me? Thanks to all those that have read this far .James |

Offline | I've always felt there wasn't much worse than having a really nice car and driving it around dirty. I've never let my Corvette go a week without washing it when I was driving it everyday, even if I had to wash it in the rain. I feel the same about my MCS. |
