During a routine maintainence check, I discovered this nut, less anything attached to it. It is located at the front upper left of the radiator and pressed into a molded black plastic bit that extends outward from the radiator.

Any ideas? BTW--Image compliments of AprilWhine's gallery (I had no under bonnet pics to shop).

Egads man! Need an electron microscope to see that.
Looking at it with binoculars now.......nothing.

Yeah,
you caught me fighting mid-edit tring to get it to show the whole pic instead of thumb.

I'm thinking it's either:

a.) some sort of tether/mount used to hold the assembly during the manufacturing process

b.) a mount for an oil cooler of some sort or an auxiliary fan--in that there's also an empty bracket to the top right of the radiator.

(Yes, I went and looked.)

Just speculation on my part.

Anybody with a CVT have a tranny cooler mounted there?

Yup, CVT, extra cooling grille.. (so CVTs are cool after all)
