A friend of mine who is a member of the BMW Car Club of America says that members get a discount when they purchase a BMW. Anybody know if this applies to MINI?

Not so far

These discounts range from $500 to $1,500 depending on the model.

BMW is trying to keep the MINI as a distinct brand, so I wouldn't hold my breath on this ever happening.

I think that some MINI dealers are giving parts discounts to BMW CCA members.

Ya most give discounts on parts cuz they're usually within the BMW parts counter but no refund on buying MINIs from BMW CCA...
