Just heard that the legendary biker Steve Hislop has tragically been killed today in a plane crash.

It'salready been a bad year for British motorbike legends, this just makes it worse. I am sure you will all join me in expressing our saddness at the loss of this great British sporting legend.

Yeah just seen it myself a trajic day, brilliant rider and after those horrific crashes over the last few years.

Yes, it's on the BBC website. It was a private helocopter crash somewhere near the English Scottish border. Sad, sad news.

Sad news, the Isle of Man doesn't seem to be having much luck with it's riders and residents this year.

Another sad loss...I was gutted when Dajiro Katoh was killed..then we lost 'Big' Dave Jefferies and now Hizzy.

Really quite devastated today....

I've met him (and his lovely wife) a couple of times. What an inspiration - he was one of the greatest british riders of all time. His TT records speak for themselves.

It's a sad, sad day for all motorcyclists, race fans etc. Lets hope the Oulton Park BSB will be incident free and act as a suitable tribute to a great man.
