I believe stingers are designed to shred the tire so it wouldn't work to well.

Stingers are designed to pierce the tyre with hollow spikes that allow controlled deflation of the tyre without causing catastrophic failure.

Green Cooper

I might ask my traffic cop neighbour one day if he's ever 'stung' a MINI.

Was chattin to a police friend about the stinger and yes they must let the tyre down in a controlled manner, and yes the MINI may be able to survive it and drive on too though he wasn't very sure about the internal workings of the run flat technology though he has never had the opportunity to 'sting' a MINI...

MINI would be poor getaway car though... too many ppl turning round to admire MINI, some one might see the faces of getaway criminals lol

MINI as a getaway car:

The Italian Job theme makes me feel cheeky and like I've just gotten away with something (especially driving back from the Nurburgring, through Europe, having escaped major incident) . It's a must for all would-be getaway cars.

I suspect MINI would be rather good at steering round most Stinger traps .

I stand corrected

The Mini would make a good getaway car just head for the country lanes

The money wouldn't fit in the boot though

One of my friends is a Rozzer.

He said if you ever get chased by a patrol or panda car then just head for the hills - most of them are asthmatic diesels. If it's a pursuit car then think about giving up.
