chili pack price increase

hi,

i finalised my mini cooper order this afternoon and i thought i would bring this to everyones attention that didn't already know.

the chili pack for the 2004 model now includes the on-board computer and the price has been increased to £1300.00 (from £1030) - and there is no price decrease on the sat nav if you get it with the chili pack but there should be as the sat nav already includes the obc! damn bmw.

£1300, that's basically a £200 increase as it was £1000 + £100 for the OBC if you wanted it.

Cheeky b*ggars.

I wonder how nuch the individual bits add up to? Have they added anything extra to the chiili pack other than OBC?

i'm just reading the Mini Product Bulletin printed out from the BMWZG intranet.

It says:

Chili pack (IVS code 872)
The CHILI Pack also gains from the addition on the On-board Computer (IVS code 550) with no price increase for Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper S.

It looks like you're paying the Dec '03 onwards price? see http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...threadid=37812

I just finalized my order about one hour ago (partly because this thread put the wind up me last night lol) and I'm paying the current price of £1020 for the chili package.

same here, I ordered mine last week and the dealer confirmed I would be getting the new features including the OBC with the Chilli Pack, and I paid the normal price.

Hey, thanks for making me aware of this. My Mini Cooper is due to arrive in September with the Chili pack. When I ordered it last month there was no talk of including the OBC. Am going to phone the dealers now and find out if it can be included in the price - wish me luck!

Chili pack price increase again, from £1370 to £1500

If horse racing is the sport of Kings, should drag racing be the sport of Queens?

Well I signed the order form agreeing to a set price so thats all I'll be paying!

£200 for a £100 extra is just stupid, surely a mistake!!

Jason I thought you were getting a MINI ONE D. How come you are getting the Cooper now ? I ordered mine a little while ago, but recently found ou that elephant insurance are a joke so Ive been looking around for insurance quotes. The best I can do now is £1,600 with directline. As I understand you are a young driver too Jason so how you getting on with insurance quotes out of interest ?

hi there,

changed my order to the cooper cos it didn't work out much different for a fully loaded cooper than a fully loaded one-d and i figured the resale value would be better on the cooper. www.screentrade.co.uk is who I've got my quote with. £800/year on a cooper... not bad eh!

speak to you soon.

For my first own insurance, I went with Norwich Union Direct who gave me an introductry No claims discount as I had been driving for 4 years with no accidents. Direct Line at the time where the next cheapest (£600) more. Noriwch Union were actually more expensive without the discount, and Direct Line wouldn't give me "an introductry no claims" as I had points.

This year, Norwich Union's price went up by over £100 a year! So shopped around nd this time Direct Line where £500 cheaper. Then knock off staff discount (10% and no interest on paying monthy) and it worked out alost £500 less. So better to be safe I racked down the Excess and added Courtosy car.

Have to say Direct Line are really good (and no I don't work for them as Direct Line staff get 25% off )

Yea I have never heard bad things about directline and they said, unlike elephant, they will cover extras if I declare them. £1600 is alot though. Im 20 at now and I done a quote for when I'm 21 with exactly the same details and without the no claims bonus and it was £1000. And to think, some people say insurance doesn't suddenly drop

I just rang them and they have just quoted me £3,000 on a Cooper. What is going on ? I live in a nice house with a garage in a nice area. I don't do loads of miles and I'm 3 years older than you Jason. Surely that quote of £800 cannot be under your own name. A 17yr old driving a Cooper must be at least £4,000 plus
