MINI Alarm

Ok i've had the car 18 months - and my alarm has just gone off for the first time, something moved slightly in the car and it went off.

OMG how loud is that!!! Its deafened me.

that thing would have scared me off if i was trying to pinch it. I couldn't stand being near it for long with that going off!!!!!

Just wondered how you switch off the interior detection, I had left the windows open and pressed the lock button twice, but the alarm still goes off ???? LOUD

Am I just thick ( yes I know you should read the manual, but its packed in the loft )

Cheers

Ian

I left my windows open and used the double lock trick today for the firt time and it seemed to work fine.

I left about 1 second between the presses if that helps

I agree, the double lock 'should' work and the indicators flash again to show that it has, but a couple of times the alarm has gone off. perhaps the wind is rocking the car slightly or something?

From the manual:

Avoiding unwanted alarm:
The tilt alarm and interior motion sensors
may be turned off at the same time. This
will prevent unwanted alarms, e.g. in
duplex garages or when on car transport
trains:
Lock the vehicle twice – activating:
Press button 2 of the remote control twice
in succession, or lock with the key twice.
The indicator lamp goes from fast blinking
to regular blinking. After approx. ten seconds
the indicator lamp changes to constant
flashing. The tilt alarm and interior
motion sensors are deactivated until the
system is disarmed.

Cheers I will try again with a longer gap between presses, if it ever stops raining.
